On Air: Rik Scott
Aquarius, which apparently means I’m complex, unpredictable and intellectual. I’ll let you read on and decide.
Asking a DJ to pick their favourite song is like asking a parent to pick which child they like best. "November Rain" by Guns N Roses, “Behind Blue Eyes” by The Who, "W.O.L.D." by Harry Chapin, "Times Like These" by Foo Fighters, "Sun Always Shines On TV" by A-Ha, "Transmission Ends" by Chris De Burgh, "To Be Young" by Ryan Adams. Oh, here, just have my iPod...
Chicken tikka masala, pilau rice and a garlic naan. Can I have it ready in half an hour? Thank you.
If it’s after 5pm then a nice pint of lager. It has to be cold. The one thing I want to know, even before the meaning of life, is why do some people not keep their beer in the fridge!?
Talk radio, live music, eating out, wildlife parks, comedy shows, walks, theatre, tomfoolery and breathing. I’d hate to have to give that up.
Favourite football team:
The Soccerettes from Sky’s Soccer AM!!
Song to sing at Karaoke:
“Breakfast at Tiffany’s” by Deep Blue Something or “Danger! High Voltage” by Electric Six. Never make the mistake of offering to go up to the karaoke machine when you haven’t chosen the song. It will always end up being, “It’s Raining Men”!
Biggest star ever met:
Pop Idol’s Rik Waller… he was big!
Favourite Film/TV programme:
Favourite film as a child was “Labyrinth” with David Bowie. I always see the “SAW” movies at Halloween but topping my list are two Stephen King adaptations, “The Stand” (1994) and “Stand By Me” (1986). As for TV, “24” is the greatest show on the planet. A big thanks to Jack and all the boys and girls at CTU.
Most worn item of clothing and why:
My belt, so that my trousers stay up.
Who would play you in the film of your life?
Me… I think I could pull off a realistic performance. What I’m more interested in, is who would play the leading lady!!
If you didn't work in radio what would you do?
Why?? Is there something I should know!?
If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be and why?
I’d love to be on the radio in either America or Canada, so whichever would have me!
Who would you most like to have a drink with, and why?
Kiefer Sutherland, Mickey Rourke and Bill Clinton because they’re all very, very cool with interesting stories to tell.
If you could swap places with someone for the day, who would it be and why?
Conan O’Brian, host of NBC’s “The Tonight Show”. What a job, getting to sit at a desk while the world’s biggest celebs come and chat to you.
What's your proudest achievement so far?
Probably when I presented a radio show dedicated to supporting local musicians and giving them a platform to broadcast their talent. I was also on the front cover of a magazine, that was pretty cool.
What was the last CD you bought?
Bruce Springsteen’s “Working on a Dream”. The Boss at his best.
What would you call your autobiography?
“I Bet You Won’t Read This”
